The EPICommunity project encompasses a comprehensive platform design that integrates an assessment framework, a gamification strategy, and a user-centered interface to enhance collaboration among early career researchers.

More than a Social Network

EPICommunity not only offers all the standard features of a modern social network—such as:

• endorsements
• comments
• posts
• real-time chat
• groups

but also includes unique features that set it apart, enhancing user engagement and fostering a more dynamic and interactive community experience.

EPICommunity offers a robust search mechanism that allows users to precisely query and find what they need. Additionally, the platform’s recommendation system enhances networking and engagement by connecting users with relevant content and community members, making interactions more meaningful and tailored to individual research interests.

The most notable features of the EPICommunity are:

Europass Integration

Users that already have Europass profiles, can use the auto-import functionality of the EPICommunity, to import their data directly to their account. Projects, Positions, Courses, Publications as well as the skills, are synced with just just one click.

Peer Assessment

EPICommunity members can evaluate the their peers through a robust assessment framework, developed by the EPICUR Alliance. Transforming a primarily textual deliverable into a functional solution with an intuitive, user-friendly interface was challenging, but the outcome was highly successful.
